Prem’s PSC (Parent, School, Community)
A Greeting from our PSC Team
Welcome to Prem’s Parent, School, Community group (PSC). Do you know the number one factor affecting student success? Parent involvement. When parents get involved, children do better in school and life. When parents get involved, the quality of education improves. Regardless of socio-economic status, cultural upbring or parents’ educational backgrounds; being involved in your child’s education makes a profound difference.
At Prem, parent involvement is a key focus and one of our greatest strengths. The more you engage with the Prem community, the more fulfilling your experience here will be. Whether you are cheering on our Prem Panthers in sporting events, reading stories during Mother Tongue Day, participating in or running workshops, or running a stall at our events – big or small time commitment, there is a place for you. On behalf of the PSC, we are excited to welcome you to Prem. We are so glad you are here and look forward to meeting your family. Prem is far more than an International School; we are a Community!
The PSC Leadership Team

Home-School Partnership
At Prem, home-school partnerships are crucial to our educational philosophy, significantly boosting student learning and well-being. Strong collaboration between home and school enhances academic achievement, fosters a cohesive school ethos, and improves communication and behavior. These partnerships also contribute to students’ overall well-being and cultural understanding, benefiting the broader community by raising aspirations and reducing absenteeism. By nurturing trusting relationships, we create a supportive environment that enriches the educational experience for all.
Parent, School, Community (PSC)

Prem boasts a vibrant and engaged parent community that plays a key role in our Parent School Community (PSC). The PSC consists of dedicated volunteers who provide valuable support across all grade levels and cultural groups. They work to foster a strong, trusting relationship between parents, school administration, and faculty. By actively participating in school life, PSC members contribute to a collaborative and supportive environment that benefits the entire Prem community.
Meetings

At Prem, we host a variety of parent gatherings, workshops, and support groups to foster a strong school community. Our monthly “Meet Up,” held on the first Tuesday of each month is a key event where current topics and concerns are discussed. These informal meetings are themed and feature updates, insights, and answers from administrators, faculty, and students. All Prem parents are encouraged to attend and engage. Additionally, the PSC organizes numerous workshops led by faculty members, designed to enhance home learning and support parents in their roles.
Ambassadors

Ambassadors play a crucial role in the Prem Parent School Community (PSC), acting as the bridge between parents and PSC leadership. They are integral members of the PSC Committee, representing both grade levels and cultural groups. Grade Ambassadors serve as the primary contacts for each grade, while Cultural Ambassadors focus on various cultural communities within the school. These dedicated volunteers support new families, facilitating their integration into the Prem community and ensuring a smooth transition. Their efforts help strengthen connections and enhance the overall school experience for all families.
Prem Community Handbook
The Prem Community Handbook is an online handbook that provides essential information and guidelines for all members of the Prem community, including students, parents, and staff. It is divided into three sections: About Prem, Around Chiang Mai, and Living in Thailand, with multiple pages on topics such as Prem calendars, getting a driving license in Thailand, and learning Thai language.
