Why Families Choose Prem's IEP

A word from our IEP Principal
The Intensive English Programme (IEP) is a special program designed to help students who are still learning English improve their language skills. We have a dedicated team of teachers who are trained to support students in their English language development.
Our program offers a challenging curriculum that focuses on the beginning building blocks of English language acquisition and educating the whole child. We aim to empower our students to become confident learners and communicators in English.
We are excited to welcome you and support your children in reaching their full potential.

Intensive English Programme (IEP) Overview
The Intensive English Programme (IEP) at Prem International School is tailored for Grade 3-8 students who need to strengthen their English language skills before joining mainstream IB classes. IEP is a student-centered approach to language learning. We recognize that learning a language takes time and that each child is unique, learning in their own way and at their own pace. Our goal is to help students who are in the beginning stages of their language-learning journey and to help them become confident and clear communicators in both social and academic settings.
IEP takes a structured literacy approach to language learning based on the science of reading research and literature. Our curriculum emphasizes literacy and English language acquisition skills across core subjects of Science, Math and Humanities. Students are also engaged in a variety of other learning opportunities including Visual Arts, Drama, Cooking, Tennis and lessons at the farm on our campus. Physical Education, Drama, Visual Arts ,and additional experiential learning in Cooking and Farm class
As a part of our whole school community, IEP students are also focused on the intrinsic values we expect to see demonstrated in all IB learners, including being compassionate, principled, and open-minded human beings. IEP students are challenged to become responsible and resilient learners, curious inquirers, and confident global citizens. The combination of in-class learning, Prem’s Exploria and Sports after-school options, outdoor education opportunities, and creative arts academies allow for IEP students to experience student life authentically and completely.
