Dear Prem Community,
Once again a very Happy New Year to everybody. I hope the first few days of school have gone well and that your children are excited to be back on Prem’s beautiful campus. It was certainly a pleasure to see our students and staff return safely, and I feel grateful for the ongoing beautiful weather, which means all of our outdoor learning is particularly pleasant at this time of year. I can imagine that our Grade 3 students had a lot of fun on camp!
In Thursday’s letter I extended a very warm welcome to all of our new families. I would also like to welcome and introduce to you two new members of staff: Mr Jack Bonfas who is our new MYP and DP Chemistry Teacher and Cassie Shear who is our new Swim Coach and IEP Assistant Teacher. If you would like to contact Cassie with regard to swimming lessons her email address is: cassies@ptis.ac.th
As we look forward to 2024 here are are couple of important events immediately on the horizon:
Monday 8th January - Amphitheatre Concert with Claron McFaddon 6.00 - 7.00pm.
Claron is our most current Artist in Residence and we are delighted that she is able to kick off her residency with a sparkling outdoor concert.
Friday 12th January - International Day - 1.30pm - 6.00pm. This is always a wonderful event that exudes colour and energy and fun! We are looking forward to seeing a host of country booths, cultures and performances during the course of the afternoon. Please read Thursday’s letter carefully for details of booth set up, performances and van timings. It is important to reiterate that Junior School students need to be supervised by parents for this event. Thank you for attending to that - and thank you in advance for your participation in making the day a huge celebration of our unity in diversity!
As you start to plan your schedules for 2024, I am sure you will be glad to have notification of next year’s calendar, which you can find here. This calendar was created in light of feedback from parents, students, teachers and the Air Quality Committee. You will see that a two week 'smoky season' vacation break is in place, and that there is also a two-week window between the 'smoky season' break and the Songkran holiday when it will be possible for students to learn asynchronously (work will be assigned for them to complete in their own time). There is one exception to this arrangement: All Grade 12 students must be physically present in school in order to effectively prepare for their final examinations. The IB is a very rigorous programme of study, and there is no substitution for the high-quality learning that face-to-face tuition brings. And, of course, it is much more fun in school!!
So, wishing you all the best for the coming year and hoping that the exciting Prem calendar of events will continue to give everybody opportunities for enjoyment, challenge, engagement and satisfaction!
With very best wishes,
Rachel Keys M.A. (Oxon), M.Ed.

Claron McFadden in Concert at Prem
Dear Prem Community,
Just a friendly reminder about Monday’s not-to-be-missed concert featuring the internationally acclaimed soprano, Claron McFadden, right here in our Amphitheatre! This is a fantastic chance to immerse yourself in an extraordinary musical experience and show your support for our selected students and our Artist Residency Thailand program's, exceptional practitioners.
Claron McFadden, known for her breathtaking talent and captivating performances, will grace our stage, offering an evening of unforgettable vocal work and inspiring artistry. But that's not all – witness the incredible opportunity our students have been given, as they perform alongside this world-renowned artist.
The concert is free, but we will be collecting donations on the door to support the program and the opportunities it provides our young people and wider community.
