World of Mathematics Workshops for G11 Students

On Thursday 17 January students attended the third workshop in our series exploring the World of Mathematics. The workshops are open to any Grade 11 students interested in enriching their mathematics learning experience by briefly exploring aspects of Mathematics rarely encountered in high school as well as their applications in the real world. This time students explored fractals, their properties and their usefulness in describing our world. After which they created a 3D fractal sculpture. The next World of Mathematics workshop will be held on Thursday 28 February at 10.15am (G11 study periods 3&4) in SS28. We hope that many G11 students will come along to explore the mathematics of logic and proof.
