World Maths Day a Success in the Junior School!

On Wednesday 14 October, the Junior School celebrated World Maths Day.

As well as our Gr 2 – 5 children participating in World Maths Day games online against other children around the world, our Junior School Council took action to organise a lunch time times table competition.

Competing for house points and the glory of being recognised by their peers as super dooper Times Table Legends, students gave up their play time and lined up ready to be challenged by Aksel our official JSC Times Table Tester. Question after question was fired at the students who easily rose to the challenge of recalling multiplication facts faster than a calculator.

Congratulations to our Times Table winners; Gr 4/5 – Jay, Gr 2/3 – Nicolai.

A very honourable mention to the runners up; Gr 4/5 – James and Gr 2/3 – Ethan.

Practising times tables can be a fun game with the whole family! Over the holidays invite your child to a times table challenge and help them improve their skills ready for Term 2.

It was great to see so many children keen to participate in this event and all children should be very proud of their effort and enthusiasm.
Great job Aksel and the JSC organising this fun event for the Junior School!
