What's cooking in IEP?

This term, students in Core English A are inquiring into ‘Who We Are’ and investigating the connections between culture and cuisine. They are working towards their summative assessment, which is to produce a written recipe that correctly demonstrates key characteristics of procedural writing.

In order to make our learning contextual, students were given the opportunity to turn their knowledge into action by reading and following a recipe on how to make cookies. Students actively used new vocabulary, baking equipment and processes (measuring) to develop their English language proficiency.

Learning should be fun, relevant and communication and teamwork skills.

Please enjoy the recipe that our IEP students have used and we encourage you to try it out with your family and friends.

Enjoy!
