It has been fabulous to welcome our students back to Prem this week. Thank you to all families who have returned their child's portfolio ready for children to start adding work from their current Units of Inquiry.
The week began with all Prem teachers participating in IB training. For the JS, the PYP session was led by Doug Brittan, an authorised IB trainer currently living in Japan. This workshop focused on 'Teaching and Learning' was invaluable to the teachers and met a key element of our Professional Development programme for this academic year. Teachers are already putting new strategies for differentiation and assessment rubrics into action which is great to see.
During the break our maintenance team was hard at work improving our JS playground. Our Early Years play area now has a new sandpit, swings, tyre course and a mud kitchen. We can't wait to see what delightful mud concoctions the children cook up there! New gates and fencing were also added to the JS playground.
We look forward to welcoming all JS parents into classes next week for conferences following the Term 1 Progress Report. If you have not already made an appointment time please contact your class teacher or K.Aey in the office.
