In Math, for the last week, we have been focusing on learning and practicing strategies. Each morning students are given a challenging activity which they have tackled solo or with partners. Afterwards, we have shared our thinking with the whole class and identified problem solving strategies used. This is to help demonstrate different thinking and approaches to learning. By associating different strategies with the students who introduced them, this helps the students remember the tools in their math problem solving tool box.
For our UOI we have started our Human Systems Unit. Yesterday, we followed the scientific method by experimenting with how our body reacts to movement and exercise. We asked questions, made a hypothesis, prepared an experiment, testing the results and shared our data.
