Prem students sit the Bio Admissions Test (BMAT)
In preparation for applying for entry to medical schools, two Grade 11 Prem students took the BioMedical Admissions Test […]
All this week Prem SS students are benefiting from sessions with Philosopher, Broadcaster and Writer, Nigel Warburton. Today he met with our Grade 12 visual artists and led critiques of the work they have on display in the SS Undercroft. The IB Visual Art course requires students to formulate a Curatorial Rationale of their exam exhibition in March next year, and to be able to have dialogue with a thinker who has written one of the most erudite books about Art, (” The Art Question” pub: Routledge 2003), is an incredible opportunity to solidify thinking and formulate how best to explain their art process.
Nigel also delivered a fascinating presentation about copies and forgeries, and used this to unpack, and question, some of our preconceptions about art. The Grade 12 students responded enthusiastically, and will find this opportunity fuels not only their work in the art studio, but also in TOK and their other IB subjects.
Our thanks to Nigel, to Aj.Alex and the Art Residence Thailand progamme, Aj, Liz for the amazing art teaching and learning at our school and to all the SS students who have worked so intently this week with our honoured guest.
