We cordially invite the Traidhos Community to join us to make merit together and recognise Visakha Bucha Day as one of the most important global Buddhist events. Nine monks have been invited from three local temples to conduct the ceremony. Offerings of dry foods, dry rice, canned food, juice or snack are welcome, but not mandatory.

Visakha Bucha Day falls on the full moon day of May (the sixth lunar month) in each year. The word Visakha Puja comes from the word Visakhapunnamipuja in Pali that means “worshiping on the full moon day of the sixth month”. It marks the three important events that occurred in the Buddha’s life, namely His Birth, His Enlightenment and His Passing away (Parinibbana).

On 15 December 1999, the United Nations unanimously declared Visakha Puja Day as a global International Day. This has brought great joy to worldwide Buddhists.
