The Golden Record JS concert 2020

We are at the end of term one and already we have been working hard towards the end of year concert. The junior school music programme provides opportunities for students to develop their vocal and instrumental skills as they are learning songs from around the world. Students in music classes are enjoying listening and responding to the music that is on The Golden Record. The Golden Record is the theme of the Junior School concert. It was made famous because it was sent to space on board the Voyager One in 1977 as a way to communicate to life in space about who we are as a species. As part of the creative process and preparation for the concert,  the students will be performing a compilation of songs that illustrate the diversity of our world, express concern for our beautiful planet and communicate messages of peace and unity to the audience. The concert in the past has normally been in February but this year we are moving it to 22nd May. All Junior School students will be involved and are looking forward to sharing their work with you.
