Thai National Artists join together on the River of Kings

This week The Traidhos Barge hosted a very different sort of trip. We welcomed various artists, including Ajarn Thongchai Rakpratoom (Thai National Artist) and Mr Tong Tewan Sapsanyakorn, the legendary east-west Thai classical -fusion -rock -jazz artist.

Several years ago, some of these artists took a trip with the Barge Program working with Thai NGO Dawiset, to help their creativity and inspiration to create works that were later used to raise funds to bring rural Thai students for a trip to the Chao Phraya River. Now, this group of talented artists has a new art project, ” Watersheds: the Aesthetic and Cultural, for Thailand’s new King Rama X.”

In the coming weeks, they will auction their art work to raise funds for medical equipment and medicines for Wat Chan Hospital, 80th Celebrations, in Amphoe Galyani Vadhana, Chiang Mai.
