Thai culture field trip

Yesterday we had our first IEP field trip of the school year which focused on learning more about various Thai cultural activities. The trip was arranged in cooperation with the Sangob Foundation and we visited a local Karen hill tribe village in the mountains not far from school. It was a great day and the students had the chance to spend a day in a local village trying out a variety of activities. Groups rotated between different activities in the morning all students tried playing some Thai classical music using traditional instruments.

They also learned about natural dying techniques using local plants.

As well as trying out their ‘Muay Thai” boxing skills.

In the afternoon we learned a Thai sword dance.

Finally we had a jungle slingshot competition.

It was a great day out in a beautiful setting high up in the hills. Thank you to the Sangob Foundation for arranging this great field trip.
