Swim, Run and Bike for fun and local causes!

The annual Premathlon took place on Friday, November 16 with over 200 Prem students swimming, biking and running in order to raise money for a local orphanage ‘Baan Dek’, the Prem sustainability committee and ‘House’ points that may well go a long way to deciding the ‘House’ champions for this year. Our Junior School students did either the Short Course Triathlon (G1+2: 40m Swim, 1.5k Bike, 500m Run) or the Long Course (G3-5: 80m Swim, 3k Bike, 1k Run). Our older Senior School Students did a Duathlon, which is made up of swimming and running, with our middle school students swimming 200 metres and running 1.5k and our Grade 9-12’s swimming 300m and running 3k. In addition, we also had a team event, which proved very popular, for SS students where one student could swim and the others do the running.

The whole school event was organised with every teacher involved and we had a great attendance of parents and community members cheering on our athletes. A big draw, as usual, was the PSC raffle, which had some fantastic prizes donated by our sponsors. Prizes included spa treatments, hotel stays, afternoon teas and lots of toys and games. In addition to this, some of our Prem service groups put on concessions stalls that proved very popular.

The Premathlon raised a lot of money for our chosen causes, with our students proving fun and sports go hand in hand. A great community event that Prem is proud to host.
