Sustainability in Practice

The Grade 11 Career-related Programme Students studying “SUMAS Business and Sustainability” got a practical insight into sustainable practices. They worked with Mike Horricks from the Visiting Schools Programme (VSP) on a game that involved them representing different families within a fishing community. They had to make suitable family decisions based on a 5 year budget. It was a really interesting way to learn about the effects of overfishing, the negative impacts, the chance opportunities that alter events, and ultimately how to survive over a period of time.
