Mary Ann Van De Weerd

Mary ann Van de Weerd’s first education qualification was in Early Childhood in 1988. She then acquired her Bachelor of Education and shifted into Primary Education in 2005.  She has been an IB educator for 15 years, with international experience in Turkey, Indonesia, Sudan and Switzerland. She has been an art teacher, a PE teacher, a drama teacher, a literacy integrated specialist, a class teacher and PYP Coordinator in two international schools overseeing two successful IB evaluations.
She holds a masters degree with a focus on International Education and Administration from Endicott college in Massachusetts, Boston, USA.
She is extremely passionate about the IB programmes. Their underpinning philosophies aligning with her own beliefs that these programmes prepare the students for the constant changes of the 21st century through inquiry-based learning and academic rigor.
