Senior School Production of "Devolution"

On the evenings of Thursday 24th and Friday 25th January the Senior School Exploria Production group performed their adaptation of William Goldings Lord of Flies, renamed “Devolution”.  This took place in the Prem Amphitheater opening with a display of fireworks under the night sky, which certainly created the intended atmosphere to captivate and engage the audience on both occasions.

The cast and crew came together to enthrall and mesmerize those who came to watch, telling the story of a group of young people who turn from civilized to savage with tragic consequences.  The themes explored throughout the play were challenging for all. The message everyone wanted to put across was that they would not turn their backs on what it is to be civilized, but instead would stand up to peer pressure, to do what is right, to be caring, resilient, principled and upstanding members of their immediate and global community.

I hope that everyone who came to watch enjoyed it as much as the performers and production team did and I would like to extend my sincere thanks again to everyone involved in making it the success it was and to name specifically those behind the scenes without whom it would not have happened:

K. Noi (fireworks) K. Tip (seamstress), K. Tong (purchasing), K. Mee (photography and marketing), K. Viroj and team (props and set), K. Rob and AVG team (tech), K. Mike (sound), K. Janese (stage manager), A. Emma (front of house and camera woman), A. Agnes (Co-Director).
