Spreading Kindness Around the School

The EY3 students have been sharing their learning about kindness with the Junior School students, teachers, and staff members.  On Monday, we shared a video of our class making Kindness Rocks in hopes that the Junior School community could join us in making them for International Day of Peace.

It was wonderful to see a few of the EY3 students on stage, speaking with confidence about spreading kindness in our school!

The EY3 students have each made a Kindness Rock and will hide it somewhere around the Junior School for the students to find.  Once found, they will be collected on the playground and will later be used for International Day of Peace.

Once we shared our ideas with the Junior School at morning line ups, we had to prepare the rocks and signs before recess.  Students worked collaboratively to make the signs, find a hole punch in the office, search for a central tree on the playground, and then find a way to hang the signs.

Then, we had just enough time to hide the rocks before students came our for recess!  Each EY3 student hid their own rock around the playground or green tile area.  The children were excited to see if the older students would find them!

Finally, we delivered rocks to the Art room for all of Junior School to have a chance to make a Kindness Rock.

We can’t wait to read all of the kind messages on the Kindness Rocks!  Parents, if you have a kind message to share with the community, please come and make a Kindness Rock!
