In Design (with Computer Science) Grade 10s have been building a social distance hat that tells someone if they are standing too close to you.
They used an Arduino Uno, an Ultrasonic Sensor and a 8×8 LED Matrix to programme the hat to be in 3 different stages.
The first stage is when nobody is standing close, the LED shows a happy face:
The second stage is if someone comes too close, the LED shows a neutral face :
The third stage is if someone is too close and stays too close for more than 3 seconds, the LED
shows an unhappy face :
