Senior Students Gained a Practical Insight into Neuroscience

Last week “The Science of Sin” talk, by Dr. Jack Lewis, was an enlightening experience for the psychology and biology DP students. It was also great to see so many teachers and parents enjoy the event.  Dr. Jack was able to add a real-world feel to many of the topics that are covered in class, like neuroplasticity and localization of brain function. Many of the students left with a deeper understanding of those core topics and a desire to learn more. It also sparked many interesting conversations in the staffroom and around the lunch table amongst the staff.

Quote from Phukao (Grade 11 Psychology Student)”The talk was very interesting, especially the part where he talked about how our neural network works and how they interact with our senses. While this topic has been introduced to us in psychology class before, having someone explains it and show how it connects to other things such as emotions, behavior, or even religion makes it more fascinating.”

Thank you to Dr Jack Lewis for taking the time out of his holiday schedule to visit us at Prem.
