Secret Art Night!

This Saturday is a very exciting day in the cultural calendar of Chiang Mai – the annual Secret Art Night! We are very fortunate to live in a place so rich in galleries with so much amazing visual art being made. A full description of the event and map showing the location of the galleries can be found below. In the description you can find out how to use the free transport between galleries.

When you visit the galleries you may come across some of our own Prem art students helping as guides. Also Ajarn Richard is offering a free watercolour workshop at La Luna Gallery from 11am on Saturday morning.

November 28 Secret Art Night – 10 galleries + 1 secret location Secret Art Night invites art lovers to experience Chiang Mai’s art scene in a friendly, fun and enjoyable atmosphere! For one evening, on November 28, from 4 p.m. to midnight, 9 galleries, a temple and a secret place will open their doors to the public. The secret show is to highlight some of the amazing galleries, artists and their amazing work in Chiang Mai city. With the map in hands, people will discover and visit some of the main art galleries in Chiang Mai and experience some unexpected art performances and art shows on the way. To end on a good note, there will have a secret finale party. The location is kept secret and can only be found via the participating venues. For this first edition, the galleries to discover from 4 p.m. are: The Meeting Room Art Gallery, Gallery Seescape, La Luna, Nuer Sang, Jojo Kobe, Dreamspace, Maispace, Kit’nCaboodle, Lido Art Space. The Toot Yung Art Center, located in Mae Rim 30 km north of Chiang Mai will also be present through a “pop-up” exhibition by the French artist and curator Myrtille Tibayrenc at Lido Art Space. To add a cultural and original touch, the Phang Ton temple in Loy Khro Road will host an exhibition of analog photographs by the French artist Romain Vincent Guiot. From 10 pm, a “secret” place will open its doors to the public. This secret place is a brand new gallery in Chiang Mai which will take advantage of Secret Art Night to make its official inauguration! Secret Art Night is an urban setting and we would like to ensure that our transport impact remains low and easy for people to navigate. You can easily take red trucks that we have provided between venues, and we would encourage you to do so. Catherine Vanesse 088-451-0350 (eng/fr) Nate Su 080-838-3858 (eng/th)
