PSC March Meet Up

Defining “Global Citizenship” was our theme for this month’s PSC “Meet Up”.

Our children require skills to tackle the global issues of today and tomorrow. To provide these skills, we need to identify what it means to be a Global Citizen.

Following an inspirational International Women’s Day breakfast hosted by Linda Buck, our PSC meeting commenced with an interactive exercise on what attributes our parent community felt were missing from the definition of Global Citizenship. These comments will be fed back for the final approved version.

Some of the comments included:

  • Ensure the layout and language is Prem Community Friendly
  • Include our own Culture in addition to respecting others
  • Highlight our responsibility for the environment and biodiversity
  • How do we educate “Global Citizenship”
  • Include Challenge Ignorance and Intolerance

We heard updates from both the Junior and Senior School and were entertained by a highly amusing, creative video from our Junior School, “Creative Communities”.

Ajarn Claire introduced the work being looked at within the CIS Accreditation process under I-DEA: Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-Racism. How do we, as a community, embrace the I-DEA ideals? How well do we know one another? As a community, Ajarn Claire invited us to get to know each other by starting with faces and facts placed around the school. Look out for more information coming soon about this initiative.

Our final speaker, Dr. Emma, is no stranger to Prem as our Sustainable and Service expert. Looking at our impressive list of Service Learning opportunities, she shared plans on how these isolated initiatives can work more efficiently and successfully as a collective. Any parent interested and has skills in retail, business and or project management should contact Dr. Emma at emmas@ptis.ac.th.

Calling all parents interested in supporting Sporting and CMAC activities, please scan the QR code in the PSC “Meet Up” slides. Here you will also see the whole presentation with date details of our PSC events in May and June. presentation link here

Wishing you all a well deserved break! See you on May 2nd for our next PSC Monthly “Meet Up”.

Please use this form to share suggestions, ideas, and feedback on how we can build a stronger Prem Community and help support our families. If you have any questions for May’s PSC “Meet Up” please write to PSCsecretary@ptis.ac.th by April 25th, 2023.
