Premathlon: A Prem House Event like no other

On Friday November 13 the annual Premathlon was held, and like this year in general it was a bit different, but the difference made the event even more special. This year it was held during school time, which meant that we had all students taking part, alongside teachers and parents who all showed their Prem Community spirit. Normally, swimming is included as part of a Triathlon for our Junior students and a Duathlon for our Senior Students. However, as we have not been swimming in term one, the Junior School students took part in a Duathlon (Run, Bike, Run), with our Senior Students, Teachers and parents taking part in a Team Race or Fun Run.
In addition to these fantastic races our all new House Teams! The new House System is managed by Crispian Waterman and rolled out through our new Heads of Houses, Adam Copus (Air House), Samuel Carroll (Fire House), Alex Prescott (Water House) and Julia Simhony (Acting Head of Earth House) and Deputy Heads of Houses, along with House captains. Making this event a really special House event.
The races were very exciting with all students showing great heart to complete the course and no doubt with all the practice in P.E, they have improved their running and biking skills and fitness. Along with the races our House Teams competed to show their House spirit and there were fantastic raffle prizes that were announced throughout the event. All our EY and JS students received a participation medal created by A. Emma and our Precious Plastics Team, with the top 3 in each race getting gold, silver and bronze medals. These medals have been made using recycled bottle tops and look great while also being sustainable.
All the money raised through raffle tickets, donations and our sponsors will be split and go to Kingdom Kids, which is a local orphanage, and new equipment for the Prem Fitness Room.
It was a great community afternoon at Prem and wouldn’t be possible without all the Prem community taking part, so many thanks to:
  • All the students who took part and showed great House spirit.
  • Our teachers and staff members who helped to run the event.
  • Our parents and community members who came along to support and run in the fun run.
  • Our operations, housekeeping, security and gardening teams who helped set up the event.
  • Our admissions team and PSC who helped find sponsors and prizes.
  • All our concessions stalls
  • A big thank you to our sponsors: Anantara Chiang Mai Resort, BlueStar AMG, DG Natural Goats Milk, Shangri La Hotel

Looking forward to an even bigger event next year. Go Prem Panthers and Prem House Teams!
