Prem students feature in international writing competition

Malala Yousafzai, the world-renowned Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate, was the inspiration for YES! Magazine's international writing competition. In February, students from across the globe were invited to respond to the following writing prompt,

"Every Girl's Right": How would you feel if you were forcibly and indefinitely banned from going to school?

The magazine received hundreds of entrants including responses from Namkhye in Grade 11, June and Sersang, both in Grade 9.

Congratulations to all the students who braved the challenge and in particular, Sersang, whose thought-provoking conclusion to her essay caught the eye of the judges.

“We are born in the world to inspire and help people, not to be put into categories and be discriminated against.”

Her words of wisdom have been published on their website and can be seen here

Well done Prem students!
