Happy New Year from Liz Hammond
I think we can finally say Happy New Year everybody!! As 2021 opens I have been working hard with […]
On 11th November 2019 a group of 15 Senior School students accompanied by representatives of the teaching and Administration staff attended the Remembrance Day Service at the Foreign Cemetery in Chiang Mai. This sombre but rather beautiful service aims to remember those servicemen and women who died in conflicts since the First World War; The emphasis was not simply on recognizing their sacrifices, but more importantly was an imprecation to do all in our power to avoid such horrors in our children’s lifetimes. The final words of the Officiator, Dr.C Fisher, capture this sentiment perfectly:-
“As we leave here today, let us keep these brave souls in our thoughts and our hearts, let us always remember them and give thanks. Let us also teach these lessons and traditions to our children and Grandchildren so that they may never know the horrors of war and only the safety and comfort of peace, friendship and love.”
The Prem students were excellent ambassadors for our community today, respectful and reverent. They conducted themselves with grace, empathy and maturity.
