COFFEE WITH NEW PARENTS
Moving to a new country and a new school sometimes can be overwhelming for families. Our goal at Prem is […]
As season 1 of CMAC is coming to a close (The Varsity football tournaments take place this week) it is time to review Prem Panthers sports for the first season. Our younger athletes have been playing basketball with the U10’s having three teams and the U12/U14 teams both having boys and girls teams. Our older athletes have been taking part in football with both Junior Varsity and Varsity teams for boys and girls. In addition, the first season has seen swimming for both Junior and Senior students. Starting with football our boys and girls have not only been playing within CMAC they have played in our own Prem Fall Classic Tournament and also in the Invitational ISB Tournament in Bangkok. Both girls and boys teams have developed well over the season, gaining a great deal of experience playing against some really strong sides at both these tournaments. We are looking forward to seeing how they do in this week’s Varsity Tournaments. Particular praise has to go to our JV girls, who not only won the Prem Fall Classic but also won the CMAC tournament.
Our basketballers have shown similar improvements and skill levels. Starting with our U10’s we had around 30 students come out and had 3 teams play in both our own mini-tournament and the CMAC tournament. Our ‘A’ team remained unbeaten throughout, while our ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams recorded some impressive wins. Our U12 teams both came so close to winning the CMAC tournaments with both teams getting to the finals and losing in tight matches. While our U14 teams were mainly made up of developing and first-time players we really saw them improve throughout the season with the boys finishing third and the girls fourth.
Finally, our swimmers had a stellar year with the Seniors winning the CMAC title and our Juniors coming a close second. We had a large amount of age-group winners and saw Prem records being broken in both meets.
All this success is due to the commitment of the Prem athletes and their coaches so thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a good start to the year. here’s to continued success in Season 2 and 3. Go Panthers!
