We have arrived in Hong Kong; 38,502kms along our Around the World challenge that we started 8 weeks ago. This is a tremendous effort and […]
Last week two Prem cricket sides traveled to the Mae On district to play in matches against two Thailand state schools. Against Sahakorn 2 school, the Prem A team batted very well to score 274 runs. Sahakorn A put on a strong chase which led to a very exciting finish, requiring just 9 runs of the last over. However, a man of the match performance from James McIlroy saw him bowl 6 dot balls to win the match. The Prem B side, who have many new players to cricket, scored 226, to Sahakorn B's 261, and while losing their match they performed well against students who were 3-4 years older. Sharing lunch with Sahakorn students in the cafeteria was a highlight, especially when we shared our chocolate milk with our cricketing friends.
The teams then traveled to Huai Keao School. In the first match, Prem A scored 285, but in a very tight match they could not hold off the Huai Kaeo A side who scored 289. Prem B had a very exciting match scoring 249 in their innings, only for Huai Keao B to draw the match on the very last ball.
We look forward to our final tournament, the Sawadee Sixes Cup, held March 5 at Prem. This tournament will be sponsored through the profits raise at the annual Chiang Mai International Sixes tournament held at the Gymkhana Cricket Club.
