During the 2019 Chinese New Year we have celebrated through our Mandarin classes with children having opportunities to learn more about Chinese culture, traditions, games and food.

In Mandarin A classes we introduced the way of Chinese traditional celebration for Chinese New Year to students like traditional food which symbolize special wishes and meaning, CNY decoration, how to say best wish for CNY and traditional entertainment. We ate together and watched a Chinese NewYear performance, as well as guided students to do paper cutting and making a red couplet of best wish for CNY.

Mandarin B classes made dumplings, paper cutting and firecracker decoration, M&M chopstick competition, Tou Hu game (an ancient Chinese game, throwing arrows in the vase) and blowing the Ping-pong ball game.

Thank you to A.Peter and A.Qi for sharing these learning activities with us this week. Thank you also to parents who have shared this special occasion with different classes.
