Grade 4 art students explore where we are in time and place
The Grade 4 students recreated sections of Picasso's famous painting Guernica. Guernica was bombed in 1937 and the Spanish government appointed Picasso to paint a painting for the World's Fair in Paris to show the destruction of the bombing. Guernica depicts the anguish of war and its affects on innocent people. The painting Guernica today is still used as a symbol of the nightmares of war and has become a peace icon.
