Mother tongue language day

Today we celebrated Mother Tongue Language Day. First all the IEP students joined the whole school assembly and enjoyed various performances from students from different countries including songs, poems, dances and drama. Then our grade 3 -5 students joined activities with the Junior School students and our older students did some language exchange activities teaching simple phrases in their mother tongue languages to each other. We had Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean language exchanges.

Thai students teaching their classmates some simple Thai and doing a pair work practice activity.

Our Chinese students teaching us their language.

Learning some Vietnamese phrases was also fun for everyone!
We finished reflecting on why our mother tongue language is important and brainstormed ideas about this together.
