‘Mingling 101’ with Melbourne University students

Today the Grade 11 and 12 IBCP students had an opportunity to practice some mingling skills over their lunch period. Learning how to ‘small talk’ with people you are unfamiliar with is not an easy task and can really make people feel out of their comfort zones.

With the 2nd Annual IBCP Business Insight event coming up in mid-November, we took this opportunity while the Melbourne University students are visiting Prem, for them to help our IBCP students develop some of these skills before the event in November. Before today’s lunch, students were provided some topic items and had to determine if these were appropriate items to discuss with people in this setting.

Overall, the session was a success! Once we return from the well earned October break, we will revisit the ‘Mingling 101’ session and provide students feedback on the day and continue to prepare them for the upcoming 2nd Annual Business Insight event.
