The Course
Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of thoughts, emotions, sensations, and environment. It is also a set of techniques and methods for systematically developing this awareness. The practice of mindful awareness has a variety of well-documented impacts, including a reduction in stress, increase in regulation of emotions, and improvement in attention and focus. The objective of the course is for participants to develop tools and understanding necessary to continue their mindfulness practice after completion.

In this one-day (8 hour) class, you will learn the basics of mindfulness meditation and how to work with “thinking” and sensations that arise while practising mindfulness. Techniques for meeting and navigating intense emotions and practices that cultivate positive states of mind like gratitude, kindness, joy and compassion will be clarified.

Who is this course for?
If you are interested in integrating mindfulness with teaching or business, this course is a prerequisite to our other courses for further training. If you are interested in establishing a personal mindfulness practice, this is the place to start. Both beginners and those with significant experience will find this course worthwhile.
