Prem artists show their quality at CMCIS Exhibition
This evening some of our Prem SS visual artists were participants in a very well attended exhibition at the Dreamscape […]
The students have been learning about mindfulness, which is connected to our Who We Are unit of inquiry. This week, we took our learning outside and continued to learn more about mindfulness with a focus on listening skills. Connecting to language and the sounds that letters make, we explored the playground while using our sense of hearing to recognize sounds that things make. The children were extremely quiet, found a quiet place to sit down and take time to mindfully listen to the environment before sketching what they heard. They heard many different sounds, such as birds, the air conditioner, guards talking, and insects buzzing. After taking time to individually listen and sketch, the children shared what they noticed. Maybe families could try this at home as well!
When at school, ask your child to share his/her sketch book with you!
