Long Beans

Today it was the long beans that were ready to be harvested. The Plant Carer plucked the long beans off the plant and we used all our senses to explore the beans, then we decided to cook them for ourselves. We revisited safe and appropriate ways to handle knives, the cutting boards and other cooking utensils before diving into cooking our beans. Children participated excitedly in the cooking process and enjoyed eating the stir fried long beans. Most children wanted seconds, but unfortunately we only had a small serving for each of the children. We will await our next batch of beans and other vegetables to be harvested to cook our next yummy dish! Ask your child about today’s long beans experience.
