The Reality of Envisioning A Desired Future
Have you taken part in a seed sorting or tree planting workshop with FORRU (Forest Restoration Research Unit)? Traidhos Programs […]
This week Channel 10 joined a khantok dinner along with a visiting school group from Singapore to film the local Sit- Wat -Sawangpetch troupe led by Loong Noi. The group is of interest to the wider public as they continue to keep alive the traditional Victory Drum Dance and other dances particular to the former Lanna Kingdom.
The troupe embraces the three-generation philosophy with three generations of Loong Noi's family participating. Over the years, the Sit- Wat -Sawangpetch troupe, named after the local temple, has performed in many public places including the UN building in Bangkok. It has also been the winner of local competitions.
Traidhos is proud to support and encourage the continuation of traditional cultural activities and to be able to provide a reason for the young dancers to perform. Visiting students have a great introduction to northern Thai culture through their participation in this evening of food and dance.
