This week the English Language Learners in Grade 5 had fun exploring Maths vocabulary through movement and body shapes. It is important for our students to engage in learning vocabulary that will help them access different subjects. By adding movement and gestures students can fully inquire and explore the meaning of words. This learning is more active, more engaging, and allows our students to access the content within a subject more easily.
The students had a lot of fun working together using their bodies to demonstrate the symbols of the four mathematical operations; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
