Leading Responsibly at Prem - Student Council

As global citizens of the prem community, it is important that we lead responsibility in our actions throughout this new year. Being part of a global community it is important to get the community involved in school events to foster a positive environment. The role of the Student Council within Prem is to ensure that a healthy learning environment can thrive, and student interests and ideas are represented.

In the Student Council, we need to ensure that we lead the student body responsibly and ethically. Back in October, the Student Council ran a Senior and Middle School Halloween event. This event took place during an inconsistent time due to COVID-19. Because of this concern we planned the event’s activities, times and date around the safety of students. Although this demanded extra planning on our part, it allowed for a smooth and enjoyable event.

Leading does not necessarily mean taking initiative for a large organization or directing a group of people. Although this is a form of leadership, all of us can be good, responsible leaders in everything we do whether it is in a formal or casual situation. In setting an example for fellow students, encouraging those around us and being open-minded to the thoughts and ideas of others we can build and uplift our community.
