Junior School Literacy Week

Literacy Week is a widely celebrated occasion where schools come together to honour the amazing authors and books that enrich our lives with joy and knowledge. In this week-long event, the junior school students engaged in a variety of literacy activities to celebrate their love for books.

Guest readers were invited to the classrooms to share their favourite books and read aloud, which inspired students and staff to recommend a wide range of readings to others. These book discussions sparked enthusiastic conversations about literature. During DEAR time, students had the opportunity to Drop Everything And Read, further nurturing their love for reading. The week also included an exciting spelling competition where students displayed their spelling skills and discussed unusual spelling patterns.

The highlight of the week was the display of students dressed as their favourite book characters. They showcased their creativity and enthusiasm by participating in a parade around campus. This culminating event brought together the students and staff to share their love for books. The week provided a wonderful opportunity for the students to express their appreciation for the many great books that they love to read.
