Boarding goes from strength to strength!
Not only is it the end of another week of boarding but also the end of the 1st month of […]
Tolerance is an act of humanity, which we must nurture and enact each in own lives every day, to rejoice in the diversity that makes us strong and the values that bring us together.” — UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay
This academic year, the junior boarders asked to form a committee with room leaders; they meet every Tuesday afternoon. The students in each boarding apartments had to select one student as their ‘leader’ for this committee. The aim is to help the students participate in team building, express their feelings and thoughts, contribute their strengths and to make boarding life more like home life. As a result, this builds their independence and responsibility; it also promotes tolerance and inclusion. Which leads us to mention the International Day of Tolerance which today we are celebrating in boarding. We have 148 boarders representing 20 countries and speaking more than 18 languages amongst themselves.
All the apartments have mixed nationalities to foster further cultural awareness and celebrate the bonds that make the Boarding community an international family regardless of race, nationality, language or religion. Whatever differences we may have, boarders always aim to be respectful of the opinions of others to resolve them.
