Fantastic Festival of Super Science 2019 reminder.
The Fantastic Festival of Super Science is coming up very soon on Wednesday December 11th. This is an optional […]
Today A.Alison’s Grade 4 class visited their Grade 1 friends to read their ‘Goldilocks’ stories to them.
Grade 1 have been learning about character and setting in stories, and Grade 4 have been exploring ideas about different perspectives in art. After A.Alison read the traditional version of Goldilocks to everyone, the Grade 4’s shared their versions of the story, which they had written from ‘different perspectives’. For instance, rather than telling the tale from Goldilock’s point of view we might hear it from the Baby Bear’s point of view. Not only does this develop critical thinking when analyzing our interpreting art, but also engenders empathy and interpersonal skills.
It was inspiring to see the older students share their work so warmly with their younger school mates, and the fantastic learning opportunities that A.Kate and A.Alison plan for both classes.
