Grade 4 'Community Workers' Mural

The Grade 4 students made inquiries into the work of Diego Rivera – an artist known for his large fresco work.

His work focused on showing the daily life of factory workers and farmers and to celebrate the history and diversity of the Mexican people. After learning about Rivera's work, the Grade 4 students took photographs of our local community of workers such as the guards, gardeners, housekeepers, teaching assistants and cooks. Then combined their knowledge of blending pastels and painting to a mural to celebrate our diverse community of helpers.
