Grade 3 - Investigating at the farm

This week Grade 3 ventured down to the farm to investigate the differences between foods. Students had to pick their own farm food and were given food that came from packages. From there, they were asked two questions; “What is it made of?” and “What does it do to your body?” Students used iPads to research, record their work and share their results.

Our students discovered that natural foods are much better for you and often contain nutrients that help your body such as vitamin A, vitamin B or even antioxidants which help cure cancer. Processed food often contain things that hurt you and cause long term effects or diseases. We learned that packaged foods are often changed in factories which change the nutritional value of the food.
