Grade 2 Go Dotty for Art!

During Term 2, the Grade 2 students studied how artists use spaces to create site-specific works. From their inquiries into installation artists like Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Hundertwasser and Yayoi Kasuma the Grade 2K students chose to recreate Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Room. The students created a proposal for their installation and met with Ajarn Rachel to share their work and ask if they can use the library.

Who is Yayoi Kusama?

Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist who is sometimes called “the princess of polka dots.” Although she makes lots of different types of art – paintings, sculptures, performances and installations – they have one thing in common, DOTS!!

Special Note: The Grade 2G student will also be creating their art installation in the Threads of Change clothing shop.
