IBCP Student’s Showcasing their skills
I am a member of Local Prem Coffee (LPC) and last term I acquired a project where I needed to […]
On 24 February the Grade 10 students at Prem made subject selections for their IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) courses. The students have been working on this decision making process from November of last year, a process carried out with weekly presentations by subject teachers and the experience of an IBCP Taster Day to see how the two programmes offered at Prem best meet student needs.
During the evening parents, guardians and students were given the opportunity to meet with individual teachers to discuss and better understand their subject choices. They also met with the careers counsellor and programme coordinators to check how their decisions might impact future goals.
Day and boarding students attended either together with parents, were given an opportunity to include parents around the world in Skype conversations, or were supported by boarding learning mentors in making their decisions.
At the end of the evening all students submitted their final forms and presently the school is finalising course timetabling for the students for Grade 11 for next year. Students will still be able to make changes in their programmes before the end of the school year by communicating with the IBDP and IBCP coordinators.
