Electronic Music in Grade 8
Grade 8 music students explored a variety of music software programs this term, including Audacity, FL Studios, GarageBand, and Noteflight. […]
Over the last few months Grade 10 students have been introduced to the subjects that they will be able to take in their next two years of study in Grades 11 and 12 in either the IBDP or IBCP programmes offered at Prem. This year the IBCP programme is offering two new programmes: Computing and a Diploma in Finance, Risk, and Investment. This week marked the last presentations and the first pre-survey of their choices.
The choices from today will allow the school to look at the final processes for allowing students to make their final selections on December 13 at the Grade 10 Subject Selection Evening. This evening will include the opportunity for all attending parents and students to meet with teachers with final questions about courses and ask advice about the subjects. Boarding students are assigned both boarding mentors and teaching staff to support them in this process.
The selection evening choices are then reviewed by teachers, the IBCP and IBDP Coordinators and the College Counsellor with a view to ensuring that the decisions made will meet the personal future goals and abilities of each individual student. In June students are given the opportunity to trial the courses. In August of 2017, as a result of this long and well-planned process, the students should find themselves in the right courses for their needs.
We look forward to seeing all Grade 10 students, parents, and guardians on December 13 in the auditorium from 4-6pm.
