On Tuesday, we visited the farm to explore a variety of plants and animals. The children enjoyed smelling plants such as lemon and were also excited to see the chickens and tortoise. Please ask your child what he/she enjoyed seeing!
The children were risk-takers while going over the bridge!
The magic plant created a lot of excitement!
The children were interested in learning more about charcoal and how it is used. We took some back to class with us and will use it as a writing tool.
After our farm visit, the children have come up with a list of things they would like to learn about. When asked the question, “What do you want to learn about at the farm?” the children responded with:
Nicky: Plants
Michael: Animals
Charlie: Animals
Jon: Chickens
Moo Lek: Chickens
Daisy: Animals
Prize: Turtles
Yijun: Chickens
Yang Yang: Plants
Aum: Plants
Kao Kwan: Turtle
Airbus: Animals
The children also came up with some ideas when asked the questions, “How could we continue learning about these things when back at the classroom?” The children began thinking about making a garden, planting seeds, watching them grow. We will continue this conversation next week and see what develops. It is a great opportunity for the children to take action!
