What does it mean to be part of a community? For many of the Traidhos staff, coming to work is […]
I cannot remember a time when Easter and Songkran came at the same time in Thailand, but for our students who remained on campus, it was such an experience!
We started our week with a pizza party for staff and students, then went on to a reasonably sedate activity of painting eggs on Easter Sunday while listening to calm music in the boarding lounge. Later we had an Easter Egg hunt, which meant chocolate was being eaten with breakfast and lunch! Trips out for shopping, movies and restaurants followed, with the highlight being Thursday when A. Bobby and A. Noina showed the students how Songkran works – basically getting as much water over as many people as you can! For most of the students this was a first, and for some their last Songkran as some were G12s. It was a very special Thai holiday for them to experience before heading into their final weeks here at Prem.
I cannot tell you what a wonderful experience this week has been; spending time with the boarding students, having time to have one-on-one conversations, laughing and joking over meals, watching movies together, and knowing that these experiences will stay with them for a long time.
