First SS Assembly of 2020

On Wednesday afternoon the Senior School gathered in the Auditorium to reflect on the eventful previous year and look forward to a year that already promises to be even more exciting! Aj.Jeff highlighted some of the amazing things we achieved last year and some of the upcoming opportunities Prem students can look forward to. Aj. Rachel directed our focus towards creativity and leadership, a theme that was taken up by the other presenters; leadership was exemplified by Fin and Lana in their role on the Boarding Council, by Emma and Hannah as they explained how the SS Sports day would be organized. Aj. Rachel also called for all students to consider stepping up to the challenge of applying for a role on the Student Council, including a new position! Opportunities for creativity were presented by Aj.Alex and Aj.Ed with a visit in February by Artswork ( info about Artswork here ) and a week in February when we focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.

All of this enlivened by the showing of some very creative music videos by the band ‘OK GO’ ( SS students – don’t forget the competition to list as many scientific and mathematical concepts the second video illustrated or utilized – there are prizes!)
