This week, we have been exploring the real life implications of biodiversity.
Grade 4 students have been given the challenge of analysing the health of the duck enclosure at the farm. This has involved searching for biodiversity in the pond by looking for a variety of invertebrates. Students noted that the greater amount of different species in the pond, the healthier it is.
We will compile our data and come to a group conclusion as to whether or not the duck enclosure pond is healthy. If not, we will brainstorm ways to improve balance of the ecosystem.
