The high school basketball seasons came to an exciting end last week as our JV and Varsity boys and girls teams competed in their end-of-season Chiang Mai Athletics Conference (CMAC) tournaments.
The JV boys won a thrilling round one game on Monday at home against Nakornpayap International School (NIS). The winning basket was scored with just 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter. On Thursday, the boys travelled to Chiang Mai International School (CMIS) and played in the semifinal against Grace, which was lost in a competitive game. The boys played a strong Lanna team in the bronze medal game and finished in fourth place.
The JV girls also won their round one game against NIS. The team has shown great improvement over the course of the season and it culminated in some impressive play. The girls lost their semifinal but then played a fantastic third place game and brought home bronze medals. The Varsity girls also showed improvement throughout the season and came up against two strong teams in CMAC play. More experience will help the girls in future years.
The Varsity boys team played one of their best games of the season in Wednesday's semifinal against a Grace team which has rolled over most of their competition this season. The boys cut the lead to two points with just 5 minutes to play but in the end lost a close game. In Friday's third place game, the team continued to show their improvements and won by a significant margin.
